PROGRAM DETAILS: We always have compelling stories to tell with our live performances and our short films. This program is no exception. These films explore the concept of resilience with stories about the physical, emotional, spiritual, and even country-wide challenges we face. A new beginning, a confirmed identity, overcoming grief, moving to another planet, battling the odds, and even outwitting your ex ~ WE HAVE IT in our program.

Our program includes the screenings of:

Mx., Directed by Wwenen Lusa. United Kingdom. “Mx.” is a title used as a gender-neutral alternative to Mr. or Ms., reflecting inclusivity in gender identity. This film delves into the tension between gender identity and societal expectations, highlighting the quest for selfhood amidst oppression.

The Last Story on Earth, Directed by Aaron Immediato. USA. Facing angry protesters, a determined drag queen does her best to finish a fairy tale reading at the local library. But when an alien invasion upends Earth’s existence, the queen encounters new challenges that carry terrifying outcomes for humanity.

Pointe of Obsession, Directed by Anjelica Hymel. USA. The performing arts industry is a mental war zone for queer and female performers vying for glory. In Pointe of Obsession, a deranged dancer kidnaps her ex-girlfriend to teach her a lesson…

Echo Equinox, Directed by Jack Cosgriff. Czech Republic. “Echo Equinox” is an experimental Swedish queer sci-fi romance that explores love across time and space. The film follows Echo Equinox, an astronaut marooned at the edge of the universe as their love for their partner, Nova transcends space and time.
